I'm building a more 'modern' flash cart for the GB. The question is, would you prefer it USB like a Drag'n'Derp? or SD card based like an Everdrive?
SRAM will be 128k to satisfy the LSDJ folk, what is the maximum ROM size you would like it to support?
4Mbytes is the most cost effictive, this would cover 99% of GB/GBC games.
The cart price is targeted at $50 but hopefully strong support will bring the price down.
Let me know your thoughts!
The only delay will be the initial transfer of the ROM from the SD to the Cart’s internal Flash. Boot times for the ROM will be instant assuming the ROM is on the internal Flash. I’ll look at adding more Flash ROM than necessary to be able to store multiple ROM’s to the internal flash.
Either option would be fine as long as the loading times are instantaneous or very fast.
Keep the scene alive!

By “fit in the original cartridge shell” I meant that the chip can just be placed inside an original shell without modification, I don’t mean the USB/SD input would be accessible that way.
If you do design one, please make sure it can fit in an original gameboy catridge shell without any modifications! Would look beautiful for reproductions. Neither drag n derp nor everdrive fit in an original GB cartridge shell, so you would have the advantage in that regard.
USB is preferable for me.
I think USB is the best way to go. SD cards are more stuff to lose and confuse.
